What is your Favorite Beatles tune?

It has been several weeks since I have posted and I wanted to take different approach. With that I decided instead posting a random Beatles fact, I wanted to share my favorite Beatles song.

My favorite Beatles song is "Here Comes The Sun". Although not complex in lyrics and perhaps not the most technical lyrics, This song is a happy tune that can turn your dreary day into a Sunny one.

What is your favorite Beatles song.

James Taylor - "Carolina in My Mind "

Although worlds apart, JAMES TAYLOR and THE BEATLES have much in common. In 1967, Taylor (a young aspiring songwriter living in New York)decided he needed a change of scenery and made his was to London on a small family inheritance. Living in the Notting Hill, Belgravia and the Chelsea neighborhoods of London, he recorded some demos in Soho and used his connection with a close friend Danny Kortchmar to put the tapes in the hands of Peter Asher. Danny Kortchmar was a former band mate of Taylor in New York and they first met as teens while their families were vacationing at Martha's Vineyard. Kortchmar had been a part of The King Bees who had opened for Peter & Gordon in New York.

Peter Asher (Peter of Peter & Gordon and brother of Jane Asher, Paul's then fiance ) was the head of A&R for the newly formed APPLE RECORDS. Asher played the demo tapes for Paul McCartney who instantly recognized the potential. Taylor became the first non-British act signed to Apple Records.
McCartney and Harrison contributed on "Carolina in My Mind" along with Peter Asher. The song wording "holy host of others standing around me" is a reference to the FAB FOUR who were recording the WHITE ALBUM at the same time as TAYLOR's Project. The wording in the first line of Taylor's "Something in the Way She Moves" was later used without his knowing on Harrison's classic "Something".

Mobile blogging

Technology is amazing. I'm blogging from my android phone. Can you imagine if the Beatles had access to some of the technology we have today during their prime? On the other hand with all the digital technology we have, there is nothing like the good raw unproduced sound of the music of the Beatles.  You can't be it on a day when your stressed and need a break.....

The Other OTHER Beatle

Charles Chas Newby was the temporary Bass player for the Beatles. Upon Stu Sutcliffe's short departure from the band in 1960, the Beatles found themselves without a Bass Player. On the recommendation of Pete Best, Chas was asked to join the band. Chas had been with Pete's former band the Blackjacks.

Chas played three gigs with the lads from Liverpool, but he was more interested in his studies at university than he was in becoming musician and only agreed to play with the Beatles because he was on vacation from school. John approached him about returning to Germany with the band but, Chas turned him down to return to school.

Chas later became a Mathematics teacher at Droitwich Spa High School in Worcestershire, England.

Chas was a left handed bass player(like Paul) and shared the same birthday as Paul. (He was one year older to the day)

Upon Stu Sutcliffes eventual departure in 1961, Paul switched from guitar to bass.
